Chapter 110: Declaration of War!

However, just as Mika was about to guess the truth, the Kendo Club door was slammed open, and a group of students carrying shinai (bamboo swords) swaggered in.

These students all looked fierce, like members of a criminal underworld who frequented dark alleys for robbery. If they weren’t wearing school uniforms, they would need to call the security guard immediately.

However, the uniforms these fierce-looking students wore were different from Mika’s. They seemed to be students from another school.

Seeing the group barge in without permission, like Cao Cao crashing Wang Yun’s birthday banquet, the other members of the Kendo Club paused.

“Huh? Who are they?”

“They don’t seem to be our school’s students!”

“That uniform… I think it’s Clover Academy’s uniform.”

“Clover Academy? Is that the Clover Academy we’re supposed to fight tomorrow?”

“Yes, yes, but why are they here today when the match is scheduled for tomorrow?”

“They’re here to intimidate us, of course!” Hearing the discussions, the red-haired boy leading the group loudly declared, then unceremoniously stepped onto a chair that had just been wiped clean, shouting, “Hey, where’s your club president? The Kendo Club of Clover Academy has come to visit! Aren’t you going to welcome us?”

Seemingly frightened by the sudden intruders, a junior member of the Kendo Club quickly rushed to find the president.

“Something awful happened! President, come out quickly!”

“What’s wrong? What happened?”

The president, still unaware of the situation, was dragged in front of the red-haired boy.

Looking up and seeing the red-haired boy staring at him up close, the president was startled.

“Hey! Who are they?”

“Oh? You’re the Kendo Club president of Yōkain Academy? You’re quite unremarkable! I can tell you’re just a weakling with a combat power of five!”

Feeling underestimated, the president bravely responded.

“Who says the president must be strong in combat? I’m responsible for planning the club’s activities, recruiting members, raising funds, and various reports! It’s only natural that my combat power is a little weak!”

“Can’t you just let your subordinates handle those trivial things?” The red-haired boy looked confused.

“How could I just casually hand those things over to someone else? No one is better at these things than me!”

“Then your subordinates must all be idiots!”

Hearing the red-haired boy’s provocative words, the president was furious.

“By the way, who are you? What is your purpose in coming to our Kendo Club?”

“Me? I am the president of Clover Academy’s Kendo Club, Amaki Ren!” The red-haired boy boasted.

“Clover Academy?!” Hearing the red-haired boy’s identity, the president nearly dropped his glasses.

“That’s right, the Clover Academy that is about to crush your entire Kendo Club! Although your Yōkain Academy is an elite high school with a high college acceptance rate, your dedication to kendo clearly can’t compare to us professionals! Just look at your surroundings! The match is imminent, yet so many of you are slacking off in the corners. It seems you don’t care much about winning!”

“That’s not necessarily true!” Just then, Mika stepped forward, confronting Amaki Ren with unyielding intensity. “The strength of our Kendo Club cannot be judged merely by observing our appearance!”

“Hmm? And who is this young lady?”

“This is our Kendo Club’s number one captain, Aiba Mika Senior!”

With Mika’s support, the president’s confidence grew.

“And that is our Kendo Club’s number two captain, Bai Shen Yukina Senior!” The president pointed at Yukina, who was standing behind Mika, and shouted loudly toward Amaki Ren.

“There’s no need to add ‘Senior’ after our names! It sounds embarrassing!” Yukina muttered under her breath.

“With these two seniors guarding us, our Kendo Club won’t be easily defeated!”

“I see!” Amaki Ren nodded in satisfaction.

“Since you’re so confident, let’s make a bet! To avoid something as cruel as disbanding your club, you only need to agree not to participate in any competitions for the next year. Even mandatory competitions, you can forfeit beforehand. A loser must act like a loser. That’s not too much to ask, is it?”

“And what if you lose?” Mika asked without hesitation.

“Then you can do whatever you want with us! However, that won’t happen. After all, we are the strongest Kendo Club in Silver City!”

Saying this, all the students behind Amaki Ren raised their right fists and shouted loudly, the sound shaking the entire Kendo Club.

Seeing this, Yukina frowned, showing displeasure.

Although these guys were loud, the reality of a fight might be completely different.

Yukina hated people who only talked big and took no action.

Yukina thought this, casually scanning the enthusiastic crowd. Suddenly, her eyes locked onto a pair of red eyes hidden within the group.

The ground was dry, blood flowed, corpses lay everywhere, and crows cried out non-stop on the dead trees.

A battered and bruised figure lay prone on the dry ground, and directly above her, a demon king emitting fierce flames sat high in the sky. The powerful aura made her unable to breathe.

‘I’m going to die… I’m going to die… I’m going to die… I’m going to die…’

If she continued fighting, she would surely die…

An unprecedented panic gripped her heart. She couldn’t even lift her head.

As if she were fully immersed in the life of a cannon fodder soldier being crushed like an ant by a powerful demon king, Yukina’s pupils suddenly contracted, and she instinctively stepped backward.

Fear had penetrated her brain. In that moment, she had completely stopped thinking.

Mika, beside her, didn’t notice Yukina’s abnormality and readily agreed to Amaki Ren’s challenge.

“Alright! We’ll settle this on the match floor tomorrow! You can’t back out!”

Meanwhile, Charlotte was outside the Kendo Club, collecting water in a bucket from the faucet.

“Honestly, Yukina! She’s always making me do the chores! Doesn’t she realize I’m not the strong labor type of girl?”

Charlotte complained softly, carrying the full bucket of water with both hands, struggling toward the Kendo Club.

“It’s really hard carrying a full bucket of water when you don’t use magic.”

Just as she reached the entrance of the Kendo Club, a stream of students walked out, passing her.

“Hmph, Yōkain Academy’s Kendo Club is nothing special! They have ridiculously few bamboo swords.”

“Exactly, exactly! If they don’t even have bamboo swords, how are they supposed to train and increase their combat strength?”

As the students celebrated their victory before the match, a short-haired girl in a sun hat, hidden in the crowd, brushed past Charlotte.

Instantly, a pair of red eyes twitched.

The black-haired girl quickly turned and looked at Charlotte. But noticing Charlotte’s ultra-flat chest, her panic completely vanished in an instant.

“Hmm? What is it, Utsunagi-seki?” A student beside the black-haired girl asked.

“No, nothing,” the black-haired girl turned her head, answering calmly. “I just happened to see someone who looks a lot like an acquaintance of mine.”
