“But I don’t know where Mika lives. Where am I supposed to find her?”
Upon hearing Charlotte’s answer, Yukina froze on the spot.
“Eh? No way! You’re on such good terms with Aiba Senior, brother, and yet you don’t even know where she lives?”
“Why do you make it sound like we’re boyfriend and girlfriend? We’re just friends with shared hobbies. Isn’t it only natural not to know where she lives?”
Charlotte replied with a slight frown, then added as an afterthought, “She knows where I live, though. I once asked her to buy a copy of a manga for me when she was out, and I gave her my address then.”
“Oh? You remember things like that perfectly well, don’t you!”
Yukina shot Charlotte a look of disdain.
Her brother, who had finally returned to the real world, always seemed to remember trivial things while forgetting the most critical information.
‘Crap, if even my brother doesn’t know where Aiba Senior lives, how can we bring her to the match in time?’
‘Should I call her again and ask where she lives?’
‘But what excuse would I use?’
‘Maybe say I want to visit her after school?’
‘That’s a decent reason, but why ask now? Wouldn’t calling her after school be soon enough?’
Although the reason was flimsy, she couldn’t worry about that now.
Yukina pulled out her phone and dialed Mika’s number again. The Hajimi ringtone rang for nearly a minute, but Mika didn’t pick up.
“Eh? Could Aiba Senior be asleep and didn’t hear the phone?”
“If I can’t get through to Mika, I can’t find out her address, and I can’t summon her here like a magic trick!”
Which meant…
Yukina looked toward the Clover Academy Kendo Club group walking into the gym, her face turning bitter.
‘Am I really supposed to fight them all? For real?’
No matter how hard Yukina thought, she never would have guessed that at this very moment, Mika wasn’t sick at all.
She wasn’t even at her own home.
She was at Yukina’s house, standing right in Charlotte’s room.
While chatting with Yukina yesterday, Mika had guessed that something unfortunate might have happened to Yukina’s brother.
So today, she had faked being sick and taken a leave of absence.
Taking advantage of the time Yukina and Charlotte were at school, she arrived at Yukina’s front door and picked the lock with a wire, slipping inside with ease.
It was her first time in Yukina’s home, and she had no idea what it usually looked like.
The living room didn’t look unusual; there were no memorial tablets or anything of the sort.
By chance, she pushed open the door to Charlotte’s room.
Seeing the manga she had lent to Xinghe piled on the bookshelf, Mika confirmed that this was Xinghe’s room.
However, the scent in the room was incredibly fragrant.
She found it hard to imagine a manga-loving shut-in making his room smell even better than a girl’s.
The bedding was tossed messily on the bed, making it look like someone had slept there recently.
Yet, Xinghe was not in the room.
The whole house was empty.
‘Did Xinghe go out to buy something?’
Just as her suspicions grew, Yukina’s phone call came at the perfect time.
Yukina had claimed her brother was lying in his room recovering from a severe illness, but Mika was standing right there and saw no sign of a sick Xinghe.
Mika realized Yukina was hiding something, but she didn’t call her out on it directly.
After all, she was the one who had broken into the house.
After hanging up on Yukina, Mika continued to search for clues in the room.
Finally, she found a single silver hair on the bed.
Judging by the length, it seemed to belong to a girl. But a girl with silver hair…
Mika immediately thought of Bai Shen Kanon, the distant cousin staying with Yukina.
‘Has she been sleeping in this bed recently?’
Yukina had said Kanon was staying with them, but if that were the case, why make her sleep in Xinghe’s bed?
What was Yukina thinking, putting such a cute girl in her brother’s bed?
Even if her brother was in the hospital, that was an inappropriate arrangement.
Unless…
That girl named Kanon was Xinghe himself.
Being an avid manga reader, she was naturally familiar with the “gender swap” genre.
Coincidentally, she had recently read a manga about a brother being turned into a silver-haired girl by his sister using a mysterious pill.
‘Did Yukina read that manga and turn her brother into that? That’s actually pretty terrifying.’
But this was just a theory. Was there any hard evidence?
As if struck by an idea, Mika pulled out her phone, opened her contacts, scrolled to the entry for Bai Shenxinghe, and pressed the dial button without hesitation.

A ringtone that didn’t sound like anything a human would set erupted from Charlotte’s phone.
“Huh?” Charlotte looked down at her phone, her eyes widening in shock.
She quickly tugged on the sleeve of Yukina, who was currently deep in thought like a master strategist.
“Um, Yukina, Mika is calling.”
“Huh?” Yukina was also surprised.
She took Charlotte’s phone and looked closely. It was indeed a call from Aiba Senior.
‘Good lord, she won’t pick up when I call, but now she’s calling my brother? She’s playing games with me, isn’t she!’
Yukina bit her lip.
Although she desperately wanted to know Mika’s address, she absolutely could not answer this call. If she did, it would expose the fact that she had just lied.
She had just told Aiba Senior that her brother was lying at home with a severe illness.
If she answered his phone herself, there would be no way to explain it.
With no other choice, Yukina could only let the ringtone finish until the call disconnected, pretending the call went unanswered.
Once the call ended, Yukina let out a sigh of relief.
But to her surprise, Mika immediately called the phone a second time.
“Aiba Senior is so annoying! Why does she keep calling this number? Why won’t she just answer my calls?”
Yukina was starting to get frantic.
But at this point, if she wanted to find out where Aiba Senior lived, answering this call was her only chance.
Yukina turned her head to look at the silver-haired loli staring blankly beside her.
“Hey, brother, can you answer this in your original voice? You know, like that ‘Death God Primary School Student’ with the bowtie voice changer.”
