Chapter 4: Is it weird that my brother has two different birthdays?

She had to admit, the white-haired girl before her was a genuine witch.

The experience of being taken for several laps above the city by this person was still fresh in Yukina’s mind; it was a complete and utter disaster.

Not only had she been forcibly taken for a flight, but the speed was also so fast that the biting airflow shot through her skirt.
It felt like a pair of cold, invisible hands were groping her thighs, and it had almost made her wet herself on the spot.

Yukina swore to herself that she would never, ever casually get on a stranger’s broomstick again.

Although it had been proven that this person was a genuine witch, her claim of being Brother Xinghe’s reincarnation was still up for debate.

After all, if she were truly an all-powerful witch, digging up her brother’s personal information would be a piece of cake.

“No, I still can’t just believe that you’re Brother Xinghe.”

“Then why don’t you ask me a few questions that only Bai Shenxinghe would know the answers to! As long as I can answer them all, you’ll have to believe me, right?”

Seeing Charlotte’s completely at-ease expression, Yukina couldn’t help but look at her with a trace of suspicion.

“For real? Then let me ask you, what month and day is Brother Xinghe’s birthday?”

“June 18th.”
Charlotte answered without the slightest hesitation.

“Huh?”
But Yukina’s head was full of question marks; she clearly did not accept this answer.
“That’s completely wrong! That’s not my brother’s birthday at all. You really are a bad, lying witch!”

“Eh?”
Charlotte looked completely taken aback.
“It’s not? That can’t be right. My birthday is definitely June eighteenth! I’ve remembered it for fifteen whole years!”

“Wait a minute, whose birthday have you been remembering for fifteen years?”

“Whose else could it be, of course it’s my own…”
Speaking up to this point, Charlotte finally realized where things went wrong.
“Oh, it’s Charlotte’s birthday.”

“And who is Charlotte?”

“It’s my name now! Charlotte, the Star Witch. This name is known by everyone in our other world.”

“Oh, I see,” Yukina nodded perfunctorily. “So, I’ll give you one more chance. What month and day is Brother Xinghe’s birthday?”

“Hold on, let me think for a bit. It’s been fifteen years since I’ve used that birthday, so my brain’s a little fuzzy…”

Charlotte squinted her eyes and fell into deep thought. Seeing this little white-haired witch who was constantly trying to be cute, Yukina’s face fell and she glared at her with irritation, just like Rikki always huffing at Anon.

“Uhh… I think it was April… April what? Crap, I can’t remember! Was it April twenty-second?”

“Wrong! The answer is April twelfth! You forgot your own most important birthday. I told you there’s no way you could be my Brother Xinghe!”

“Well, what can I do? It’s not like I knew from the beginning that I’d definitely be able to come back to the real world! It’s only natural that I’d accidentally forget my original birthday.”

Yukina couldn’t help but show a look of contempt, clearly not buying Charlotte’s excuse for forgetting her birthday.

“However, I remember your birthday very clearly, Yukina. It’s March seventh, right!”

“Ngh…”
Yukina was stunned for a moment. She hadn’t expected Charlotte to be able to state her birthday so accurately.
“Completely correct.”

“Hehe, even if I forget my own birthday, I would never forget yours, Yukina. Now you have to believe that I’m your Brother Xinghe, right!”

“Eh? Is… is that so? So brother always remembered my birthday?”
Yukina’s face flushed red. She had been so aloof and would lose her temper with her brother from time to time, yet he not only didn’t resent her but even remembered her birthday so clearly…

While Yukina was busy convincing herself, Charlotte couldn’t help but turn her head to the side and sigh.

‘She didn’t actually make a special effort to remember Yukina’s birthday.’
‘The reason she could state it so accurately just now was because she also happened to have a sister in the other world named Shaula, whose birthday was also March seventh.’

‘With the impression of two sisters having the same birthday, as long as Charlotte’s relationship with Shaula wasn’t as strained as Bai Shenxinghe’s and Yukina’s had been, she would never forget their birthdays.’

‘Thankfully, that kid Shaula adored her more than anyone else. Whenever she had free time, she would come to her Star Orbit Tower and cling to her. She was countless times cuter than Yukina.’

‘Right now, that kid is probably still working hard to become the Rainbow Witch, striving to be as strong as her.’

“No,” however, Yukina suddenly calmed down again. “I can’t jump to conclusions just yet.”

Things like birthdays could be found out with a little investigation.

To confirm that this witch was her Brother Xinghe, she had to ask some more tricky questions.

“I have a few more questions for you! What is your favorite game to play, brother?” Yukina asked with a serious expression.

“That’s obviously Star X Iron X!” Charlotte answered without hesitation.

“Then who is your favorite character in that game?” Yukina pressed on.

“Clara!”
Any hesitation, even for half a second, would be a sign of disrespect to the white-haired girl.

“How many of her books do you have hidden under your bed?”

“Five!”

“Wrong! The answer is zero! Because I burned them all! You damn lolicon!”

“What?!”

After this fluid exchange, Yukina fell to her knees, her eyes trembling as she stared at the floor.

“No way! My brother really reincarnated as a petite and adorable little witch? How could such an absurd thing happen in this world?”

“I should be the one kneeling on the ground! You just burned such a beautiful book like that!”

“I didn’t burn them! I received the news of your fatal car accident right after school. I rushed here as fast as I could. I didn’t have time to burn your treasured little yellow books!”

Yukina complained with a resentful look on her face.

“Oh? Is that so? That’s wonderful.” Hearing this, Charlotte couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

It seems that the time flow is different in the two worlds. He enjoyed fifteen years of arrogant life in the other world, but only a few hours had passed in the real world.

“Speaking of which, brother finally came back for a visit, why do you look so unhappy, Yukina?”

“Hehe…” Yukina forced a stiff smile.

How should she react?

When she was little, she idolized her all-powerful older brother, but after entering junior high school, her brother started to act like a complete idiot, and her relationship with him became distant. Then, a car accident suddenly occurred and took her brother away.

Just when she thought she would never see her brother again and was crying her heart out in regret, her brother, who had been reincarnated as a white-haired little witch, reappeared after winning the revival match.

The thought that while she was weeping bitterly, her brother was enjoying an unprecedented life of luxury in another world made Yukina feel that all the emotions she had just invested had been wasted.

“Give me back my tears!”
