Chapter 25: Magic is pretty amazing, isn’t it!

“So, what did you use to transfer the pain from learning magic after that, brother?”

Unconsciously, Yukina had developed a strong interest in Charlotte’s experiences in the other world. It was like finding an anime with a generous budget, a gripping plot, and likable characters: after watching the first episode, you had to watch the second, and then the third—she simply couldn’t stop.

“Is he still that scarecrow who gets stressed out so easily?”

“No, it wasn’t. Although Master Chloe tried to pull the same trick again, after my strong opposition, she finally switched to a different little guy to absorb the damage for me.”

Saying this, Charlotte switched the image to a new one and presented it to Yukina.

It was a small, palm-sized stone figure that looked a bit clumsy.

“It at least has eyes and a nose!”

Yukina honestly couldn’t find any better words to compliment the little stone figure, especially since it was far from cute.

“And this is what it looked like when it grew up.”

Before Yukina could react, Charlotte switched the image again and placed it over the stone figure.

In the center of the frame stood a stone giant as tall as the nearby trees, swinging its arms and destroying all the surrounding forest.

The scene felt somewhat familiar.

The same full moon in the sky, the same forest clearing, the same bonfire, the same mushroom porridge, the same nervous little Charlotte staring at the stone giant, and the same god-tier Master who was knocked flying by a punch from the stone giant.

Clearly, this stone giant, just like the previous straw doll, had absorbed too much pain, its patience exploded, and it went berserk on the spot.

“No, why are you guys always fixated on this damn mushroom porridge? Does it increase your magical power, or does it boost your fortitude?” Yukina couldn’t help but complain.

“I wasn’t the one who insisted on eating it! It was all Master Chloe’s fault. She spent all her money buying two bottles of hard liquor, so we had no money for food or a hotel. In the end, we had no choice but to camp in the wilderness and eat foraged mushrooms.”

“How has this Master of yours survived until now? Are witches from other worlds all this resilient?”

“Well, with Holy Magic, as long as your head isn’t chopped off and your heart isn’t dug out, even if you’re chopped into a human stump, Holy Magic can restore you to normal. See? Magic is amazing, isn’t it?”

“I just think it’s outrageously overpowered. How can there be such a buggy spell? Do the gods of your other world not care about game balance? It’s like the developer of Sanguosha.”

“No, the gods of the other world are not that culpable.”

“So, how did you defeat this stone man? It looks much harder than the straw doll before. For you, having only studied magic for a few months, attacking it must have been like scratching an itch.”

“No, that guy was actually very easy for me to deal with. It was just purely high defense. Most physical and magical attacks couldn’t harm it.”

“If that’s the case, how did you manage to defeat it, brother?”

“It was simple! Just increase the magical output. As the saying goes, ‘All fear stems from a lack of firepower.’ As long as I maximize my firepower, there’s no armor in this world I can’t penetrate. What do you say? Do you want to see your big brother’s brilliant move right now?”

Saying this, the Charlotte beside her leaned her cute face close, staring at Yukina with eyes that clearly wanted to show off her amazing feat.

Yukina recoiled, pushing Charlotte’s face away with a look of disgust.

“Although I really want to see what outrageous move you pull off next, it’s getting late.”

Charlotte looked up at the clock hanging on the wall.

“Oh, it’s already one in the afternoon without me realizing it!”

“I’m going to the school for a bit now, so I’ll leave the house-watching to you, brother!”

As she spoke, Yukina had already changed into her school uniform, slung her backpack over her shoulder, and was ready to leave.

“School? Isn’t today Saturday? Do you have to go to school in the afternoon, Yukina?” Charlotte asked, confused.

“It’s my kendo club activity! We have a match against the school next door in a few days. As the second-ranked captain, I naturally have to go practice!”

“I see. You’re quite amazing yourself, Yukina!”

“That’s…”

Yukina was about to brag, but Charlotte added another sentence.

“As expected of my sister!”

Hearing this, Yukina’s face instantly clouded over.

“You can skip that last part. I’m not…”

Stopping mid-sentence, Yukina suddenly remembered things from the past and paused.

It was because she didn’t believe that her all-powerful brother didn’t exist from the beginning that Yukina constantly pushed herself to surpass the ideal image of her brother.

Of course, the current version of her brother had become a goal she could never surpass, so bringing up their awkward past wasn’t appropriate now.

“Not what?” Seeing Yukina stop mid-sentence, Charlotte asked, confused.

“Nothing! I’m leaving now! Goodbye, brother!”

Yukina turned and walked towards the door.

However, at that moment, Charlotte suddenly grabbed Yukina’s sleeve.

“Wait a minute, Yukina!”

“Hmm? What is it, brother? Are you afraid to stay home alone?”

“Don’t treat me like a child, Yukina! Your brother is already fifteen!”

“Doesn’t that still make you younger than me?”

“…” Charlotte’s eyes showed a look of clear displeasure.

“So what do you want, brother? I don’t have time for your nonsense now.”

“I want to go to the school and take a look. Take me with you!”

“Huh? You want to go to school too, brother?”

“Is it that strange that I want to go to school? I was a student at that school once, wasn’t I?”

“But you’ve been reincarnated as a witch, brother. What would you do at a school? Besides, your clothes are too flashy. I don’t want to be talked about by everyone!”

“My clothes are too flashy? Then I can just change, can’t I?”

Saying this, Charlotte gently patted her flat chest.

Instantly, the witch’s robe on her body was replaced by the exact same summer school uniform as Yukina’s.

“Now no one will think it’s strange, right?”

“Uh, well…” Yukina was speechless.

Switching clothes in the blink of an eye—magic was truly incredibly convenient!

“Yukina, stop spacing out. It should be fine for me to wear this, right?”

“There’s certainly no problem, but if someone asks who you are, how should I explain it to them? Should I say you’re my brother, Xinghe? No one would believe that. People might even think I’m crazy.”

“That’s simple. Just tell them I’m your older sister.”

“No, standing here next to me, who do you think is the older sister?”

With her D-cup breasts, Yukina was no match for Charlotte, who had an A-cup. Charlotte was utterly defeated.

“Ngh…” Charlotte’s face showed a look of dissatisfaction. “Don’t get too smug, Yukina. I’ll definitely develop to be bigger than you later!”
